Weaving Resilience

Weaving Resilience Network is a member-based community of organizations working to support and strengthen Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Global South. While each member organization is completely independent, the Weaving Resilience Network is aligned around the following broad goals:

Local leadership

Empowering civil society actors in the global South to spearhead change, ensuring that those closest to the challenges are the architects of the solutions offered.

Collaborative resilience

Foster peer-to-peer networks where CSOs can harness shared strengths and collective wisdom.

Adaptive strategy

Equip organizations to navigate the evolving challenges they face by encouraging innovation, agility, opportunities for reflection and continuous learning.

Inclusive engagement

Create space for dialogue and action that incorporates diverse voices, especially those that have been historically marginalized or silenced.

Holistic support

Recognizing that the movement for social justice includes ensuring the health and well-being of its contributors.

Sustainable impact

Investing in the long-term sustainability of civil society movements to ensure lasting and systemic change and a legacy of inclusive and effective citizen participation.

Jalin Tenggara

Jalin Tenggara is a collaboration of three institutions that care about strengthening and developing the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) so that they become increasingly resilient community partners in realizing a healthy democracy. Working together with various parties in the Indonesian and global CSO ecosystem, Jalin Tenggara aspires to expand support to CSOs throughout Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Currently, Jalin Tenggara consists of:

PLUS (Social Enterprise Platform) which supports financial resilience so that organizations can stand firm and stable in the long term;

Roemah Inspirit as a communication resource hub that provides networking and capacity building so that CSO voices become louder, clearer and heard.

KEHATI Foundation (Indonesian Biodiversity) through the Ananta Fund as a forum for managing endowment funds designed to support increasing the capacity of Civil Society Organizations.

Jalin Tenggara is part of a global initiative called the Weaving Resilience Network. Currently, the Weaving Resilience Network initiative is in 8 areas: Andean Countries, Brazil, Mexico and Central America, West Africa, East Africa, South Africa, North Africa and the Middle East, and Indonesia. This initiative encourages the realization of a peer-to-peer resource network designed by CSOs for CSOs.

As an integral component of this global movement, Jalin Tenggara not only wants to change the CSO landscape in Southeast Asia, but also contribute to the vision of a more resilient, sustainable and inclusive civil society worldwide.

Database

This database of local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) is the result of collaboration between Ananta Fund – Yayasan KEHATI and The SMERU Research Institute in the research “Baseline Study of Local CSOs in Western, Central, and Eastern Indonesia” to support the strengthening of CSOs in the country.

This data aims to be an easily accessible source of information for anyone wanting to learn more about local CSOs working in various areas of social change, including inequality reduction, rights promotion, social justice, environmental conservation, and climate change. The CSOs below are organizations that have completed the baseline research questionnaire and are willing to be published.
